The title refers to Flora MacDonald and Bonnie Prince Charlie (Charles Stewart) dressed as her maid while making his famous escape to the Isle of Skye. This tune is listed in Chief O'Niell's seminal work O'Niell's Music of Ireland as Planxty George Brabazon and attributed to O'Carolan. We play it more like an O'Carolan than a hornpipe, slow and pretty then follow with The Rights of Man. Click on one of the
